TS Core Tools: MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis)

Duration - 1 day

Description

MSA provides an understanding of the capabilities of a measurement system. This workshop provides an overview of the application and requirements of the measurement system requirements from the automotive industry MSA 3rd Edition manual. It will examine the importance of a reliable measurement system. Participants will learn different ways of evaluating bias and variation, which includes: accuracy, linearity, stability, repeatability & reproducibility (GRR). The workshop will provide an insight on how to apply this information to your current measurement system and selection of instrumentation.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn the basic definitions and concepts of “the measurement systems”
  • Introduce Attribute Measurement Systems
  • Introduce measurement strategy and measurement discrimination
  • Introduce definitions of various types of measurement system variation: Stability, Bias,
  • Repeatability, Reproducibility, Part-to-part Variation, Linearity
  • Learn about the assessment of Simple Variable Measurement Systems including issues of stability, bias, repeatability & reproducibility (GR&R)
